Roman Jakobi
Cinematography
A 2019 Emmy-winning cinematographer for the PBS series “Lost LA” (a co-production between KCET and Rigler Creative), renowned commercials and feature film cinematographer Roman Jakobi has worked on numerous Rigler Creative productions over the past decade. Collaborations with the team at Rigler Creative include TV shows, documentaries, on-air promos, web series and music videos.
Work takes Roman to Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America. He is a fan of the introspective art-house projects, but also really likes the bang-em-ups and is very much at ease when working with foreign crews in remote locations. He loves shooting out of moving vehicles and enjoys a good car stunt.
Roman served as director of photography on commercials for iTunes (featuring Bob Dylan), Nike, The Gap, Hewlett Packard, Nintentdo, BMW, Kohl’s, Exxon and Subway, music videos featuring Regina Spektor, The Eagles and Ben Harper, and as second unit cinematography on the Liam Neeson thriller “Unknown.” Roman recently served as director of photography on the feature “Control” in Hong Kong, a noir thriller in Mandarin starring Hong Kong action star Daniel Wu; the Bollywood movie “A Gentleman,” shot in Florida and Mumbai; and the award-winning love story “Wish You Were Here,” produced on location in Japan and Hong Kong.
